Basal implants, also known as basal osseointegrated implants or BOI, are a type of dental implant that is used to replace missing teeth. Basal implants have a high success rate and are advised for those who are not fit enough for Traditional implants due to significant bone loss in the jaw resulting from Gum diseases or other factors.

Unlike traditional dental implants which rely on the density and quantity of bone in the jaw, basal implants are designed to be anchored in the hard Cortical bone that lies beneath the gum tissue where they integrate with the surrounding bone tissue over time. This helps in creating a secure and stable base for replacement teeth. They can often be placed in areas where traditional implants may not be possible, such as cases where there is significant bone loss.
