“Composite teeth” are dental restorations made from biocompatible composite material. The Composite material is made by mixing resin with finely ground particles of glass. It is known for its Bio-Compatibility which is light weighted and a strong material. It gives aesthetics a pleasing appearance as it looks like a natural tooth and can be easily shaped, sized, coloured and shaded to match the surrounding teeth. They can either be created in the dental laboratory or restoration can also be done directly by the dentist on the mouth of the patient by direct composite bonding process.
The technique involves the process of step by step layering of the composite material over the tooth. After each layering process, the material is hardened with the help of “Curing Light” inside and enclosed chamber. Once the layering is done, it is shaped, sized and carefully sculpted to match the surrounding teeth.
Composite Teeth restorations are affordable, aesthetically pleasing and can be used for dental fillings, dental bonding and dental veneers as well. This technique allows for more of preservation of natural tooth as lesser tooth structure needs to be removed. They can be easily repaired or even modified at a later stage if required.
